The Mankota Veterinary Clinic opened in the year 1974 with Dr. Robert Goodhope. The clinic is under the umbrella of the Vet District Board made up of the RMs of Mankota, Glen MacPherson, Pinto Creek, Auvergne and Waverly. The creation of vet district boards were to encourage veterinary services within the district - vet district boards exist across Saskatchewan to this day.
The original building has seen a few veterinarians pass through its halls, notably Dr. Goodhope, Dr. Garth Sherven and Dr. Alan Raymond.
In the year 1980 it was renamed Poplar Valley Animal Clinic under Dr. Alan Raymond. In 2022, the clinic passed on to Dr. Wendy Schmaltz.
